The awards celebrate and acknowledge successful individuals and teams within the pharmacy profession. We are delighted to be able to recognise all sectors of clinical pharmacy through these awards which are open to any qualified Pharmacy Professional irrespective of career level. Prizes include an educational grant to help attendance at an overseas Congress.
How do I enter?
- Please select the category you would like to enter and click 'Enter now'. You can also choose to select several categories by checking the boxes on the right.
- Register or login. When registering, you will receive an email, and will need to validate your account before you will be able to complete your entry/ies.
- Complete the online entry form and upload any supporting material. You will need to complete all the required fields before you can submit your entry. -To complete your entry, agree to the terms and conditions then click the 'COMPLETE' button at the bottom of the page. Alternatively, you can save your entry and login and complete at a later date.
- Once registered as an entrant you will be able to return to your incomplete or completed entries and edit as necessary. If you forget your password please use the reset password link on the login page.
- Entries may be edited up until the point of submission; all submissions must be made by the 26th February 2024.
- To complete your entries, please move all to basket and follow the online instructions.
What are the submission criteria?
We will be judging the submissions using the following criteria:
- How this individual or project has made a positive impact on clinical pharmacy practice and/ or patient care, ideally supported by qualitative or quantitative evidence or published literature
- The quality of their innovations and/or research within clinical pharmacy practice
- How reproducible is the innovation or initiative or role or application of their research or evidence that practise has or will be sustainable for long term benefits
- How innovation and creativity enhances the role of pharmacy
What are the categories for the CPC awards?
Unsung Hero Award
The judging panel is looking for an outstanding person, team or project that has made a significant contribution to the clinical pharmacy sector. This could be:
- a career-long contribution or a single initiative that has had a major impact
- a development of a new service, innovation or a research project
- a service, working practices or utilising new technologies providing person-centred outcomes
- a multidisciplinary approach to delivering outstanding clinical pharmacy services/care to patients
Excellence in Clinical Leadership
The judging panel is looking for an outstanding person, from all types of pharmacy background who has made an exceptional professional contribution to clinical pharmacy leadership in the UK. This could be an individual who has:
- made a career-long contribution or a single initiative that has had a major impact in recent times
- demonstrated expertise, patient-centred professionalism or is considered a role model for their profession
- shows passion, advocacy, encouragement and commitment to supporting innovative developments in pharmacy
Excellence in Hospital Pharmacy Practice
The judging panel is looking for an outstanding person, team or project that has made a significant contribution to clinical pharmacy in hospital pharmacy in the UK. This could be:
- a career-long contribution or a single initiative that has had a major impact in recent times
- a development of a new service, innovation or a research project
- improving a service, working practices or utilising new technologies providing person-centred outcomes
- a multidisciplinary approach to delivering clinical pharmacy services/care to patients
Excellence in Primary Care Pharmacy
The judging panel is looking for an outstanding person, team or project that has made a significant contribution to clinical pharmacy in primary care in the UK. This could include work in a community pharmacy, general practice, PCN, ICS, nursing home and or intermediate care settings.
- a career-long contribution or a single initiative that has had a major recent impact
- the development of a new service, innovation, or a research project
- improvement of a service, working practices or utilising new technologies to provide person-centred outcomes
- a multidisciplinary approach to delivering clinical pharmacy services/care to patients
Excellence in Use of Technology in Pharmacy Practice
The judging panel is looking for an outstanding person, team or project that has made a significant contribution to clinical pharmacy in the UK. This could be:
- A career-long contribution or a single initiative that has had a major impact in recent times
- A development of an innovative digital service or research project
- Improving a service, working practices or utilising new technologies providing patient-centred outcomes
- Transforming the sector in the digital age using IT to tackle major issues in the pharmacy community.
Can I edit an entry after submission?
Yes, as long as it is before the final entry deadline of 15th March 2024.
If you log back in your entry will be held under the Awards > Nominations section.
You will then be able to select the “edit” button and make the necessary changes.
Please be sure to press save.
No changes can be made once the final deadline has been passed.
If I start an entry can I return and continue at a later date?
Yes, please press the “Save for Later” button which will then move your incomplete entry into your “Saved Items”.
When you are ready to submit you can log back in, go to your saved items tab to make any necessary changes before selecting the “Move to Basket” button which will allow you to complete your transaction.
What is the application process?
- An independent judging panel will be convened and will meet to assess the applications and judge the awards.
- Shortlists will be announced in March. The winners will be announced at The Clinical Pharmacy Congress and as such all those shortlisted will be expected to attend.
- The panel’s decision will be final. The panel will not enter into any discussion or correspondence concerning any award. The judging panel reserves the right to withhold an award if no suitable submission is received. The judges reserve the right to move an entry to a different category if it is felt that it is more relevant for that entry
- Companies associated with any member of the judging panel are not normally eligible for consideration
- These rules and notes can be modified from time to time at the discretion of the panel
