Steve works as a senior clinical pharmacist at a large primary care network (PCN) in Bournemouth after spending 25 years working in hospitals. As an independent prescriber for 16 years he has an extensive background in prescribing education and research in addition to NHS system change & transformation. He is a fierce advocate for medication safety and was a member of the National Overprescribing Report ‘s short life working group. He now champions, both locally and nationally, the benefits of clinical pharmacists in primary care, in particular the need for de-prescribing for people with problematic polypharmacy.
